Welcome to the Studley, Kansas!

Studley is located on the Sheridan/Graham county border on the eastern edge of the county. Studley's roots date back to an early English immigrant, Abraham Pratt, who built the historic Cottonwood Ranch and is credited as the founder of the town. With its English roots, the town was named after the Studley Royal Park in England. Studley's automotive body shop and grain elevator are the main staples in town. The Cottonwood Ranch, half a mile west of Studley, is a fascinating look back in time of a rural sheep ranch. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 for its association with the settlement of western Kansas and its architecture. All are welcome to join a guided or self-guided tour of the ranch. For more information, contact Don Rowlison at 785-627-5866.
